Stunning Stair Cases

Neat iron staircase at the abandoned Weston State Hospital in West Virginia. Love the detail!:

Looks like it flows down between the railings and then spreads out when it passes below them like a river:

The most magnificent staircase at the Musée Gustave Moreau in Paris. This would be amazing - totally could bring out the closeted library-dwelling menace in me if I ever built this.

I love old stair cases: they lead upwards and when the treads are worn, I know the journey is worthwhile.:

" Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me" F. Scott Fitzgerald:

The interior truly resembles a Tuscan estate and will transport you to a fond memory of your last Italian trip…or perhaps your next. Limestone flooring in earth tones as you enter the home is the perfect accompaniment to rich wood and masonry work. Throughout the home deep walnut wood accents provide an old-world sensation to all who visit. The wood details can be hand-hewn beams, wide-plank wood floors and in window and cased-opening trim work.:
